January 2, 2013 A memorial service in Tallahassee for former Florida Supreme Court Justice Ben Overton will take place Monday with a public visitation followed by memorial service. Overton, 86, died Saturday in Gainesville. Overton, who retired from the court in 1999 after 25 years on the high court, will lie in repose at the Florida Supreme Court building from noon to 2 p.m. A memorial service in court chambers immediately follows. Scheduled speakers include former Gov. Reubin Askew, Chief Justice Ricky Polston, former Justice Parker Lee McDonald, and attorney Sandy D'Alemberte.
