E-MAILS

I have suddenly stopped getting emails. What should I do?
Please set us as a safe sender in your email options
HERE'S WHAT TO DO:
In your email preferences, allow info@newsserviceflorida.com and info2@newsserviceflorida.com

If you still are not receiving emails please feel free to contact Ruth at r.herrle@newsserviceflorida.com or call our office at (850) 580-8090.

I know someone who would love this story; can I forward it to them?
Yes! Our subscribers are allowed to forward 1 new story per week. Obviously, forwarding all of our content will ensure we have only 3 subscribers.
If you know someone that could benefit from our entire service let us know and we can add them to your trial or give them their own.

I love the emails but there are just too many, can I slim them down?
Yes. We have our Keyword Alert System, which allows you to choose up to 25 keywords. You will then receive only stories that include your desired content.

HERE’S WHAT TO DO:
Once you are logged into the NSF website, choose ‘Manage Alert System’ from the menu area on the bottom left of any page under ‘Site Navigation’, and then follow the prompts.

Also, Click Here to be removed from our standard email list.

Is there a way to receive all the news in less emails per day?
Yes, we send out the Daily Digest, which is a concise overview of the previous day’s stories. Please contact Kurt Hardeman at: (850) 580-8090.

COVERAGE

Are you a clipping service?
No. We have a team of five full-time reporters, in addition to freelance reporters, that provide our subscribers with high-quality, comprehensive, objective information about the activities of state government.

How does your coverage change during the Legislative Session?
During session our reporters extensively cover the committees, including coverage of incremental votes not followed by many other media outlets. We also provide wall-to-wall coverage of the floor sessions. Our daily On Tap feature includes information about votes coming up in committees that goes far deeper than anything any other media outlet is covering.

Can I request coverage?
Yes. However, we can’t guarantee we will cover any particular issue or event.

WEBSITE

Do you have a website tutorial?
We offer both phone and in-office tutorials of our website and other services. Click here to contact Ruth Herrle and request a website tutorial.

For questions, please feel free to contact her at r.herrle@newsserviceflorida.com or call our office at (850)580-8090.

How do I narrow my search?
To Search:

Enter the word or words you wish to find. You can include Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) and wildcards (* and ?) in your searches. Click the "Search" button to start the search.

Examples:
Scott insurance
Finds documents contain the words "Scott" and "insurance".

Scott or insurance not commissioner
Finds all documents containing either "Scott" or "insurance" but not the word "commissioner".

[Scott's insurance commissioner]
Finds all documents containing the phrase "Scott's insurance commissioner" (rather than just documents containing the word "Scott," the word "insurance" and the word "commissioner").

German*
Finds documents containing any word beginning with "German" - for example "Germany", "Germans", and "Germanic".

How do I search for session summaries?
When searching for Session summaries in our archives please place either [House Summary] or [Senate Summary] in the NSF archive search box. You may also add “and [month date]” to narrow down you results.

NEWS SERVICE

Are there other News Service’s in other states?
We’re affiliated with The State House News Service in Boston, which has been providing detailed, addictive State House coverage since 1911. We strive for the same loyal following among subscribers that SHNS has enjoyed for years.
