JOSSIE BARROSO has been named communications director for the Senate Democratic caucus. Barroso has worked as a reporter and producer at The Florida Channel.
BOBBY BLOCK has been named executive director of the First Amendment Foundation. Block is managing editor of Florida Today.
MADISON CLEARMAN AND JAMES WILLIAMS have been named to staff positions by state Rep. Anna Eskamani, D-Orlando. Clearman will serve as district aide. Williams will work on constituent services and policy.
WEST GREGORY has been appointed by Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson as director of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Office of Agricultural Water Policy. Gregory most recently served as deputy general counsel at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
LUIS SOLER has been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis as director of the Florida State Guard. Soler has served as deputy director and chief of operations for the state guard.
JOHN TRUITT has joined the Tallahassee office of the GrayRobinson law firm. Truitt is a former deputy secretary of regulatory programs at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
JOHN HORNE has been installed as chairman of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association Board of Directors. Horne is owner of Anna Maria Oyster Bars and Café L’Europe.
SUSANNAH WESLEY-AHLSCHWEDE has been named chief marketing officer at Florida State University. Wesley-Ahlschwede has worked for companies including American Airlines, Ford Motor Company, Shell, Porsche, Nissan and Takeda.
BEN GIBSON has been appointed managing partner of the Tallahassee office of the Shutts & Bowen law firm. Gibson joined the firm in 2018.
RITA CASE has been appointed by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Board of Governors to the Miami Branch Board of Directors. Case is president and CEO of Rick Case Automotive Group in Sunrise.
