MICHAEL RUBIN has been named president and CEO of the Florida Ports Council. Rubin most recently has served as the council’s interim president and CEO after working as vice president.

NOAH VALENSTEIN has been named senior adviser with the American Flood Coalition. Valenstein is a former secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

KEVIN CABRERA will serve as a senior adviser to the campaign of Republican Erika Benfield, who is running in Central Florida’s Congressional District 7. Cabrera served as Florida state director for Donald J. Trump for President and the Republican National Committee.

SANDRA “SAM” HIMMEL has been installed as president of the Florida Association of District School Superintendents. Himmel is the Citrus County schools superintendent.

JUDE FACCIDOMO has been installed as president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Faccidomo is a Miami attorney.

JAMES BRADDOCK has been elected president of the Florida Municipal Electric Association. Braddock is director of support services and internal auditing for the City of Wauchula.

CELESTE SCHETTINO has been named manager of government relations for Shumaker Advisors Florida, LLC. Schettino has worked as executive assistant to Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried.

BURTON CONNER has become chief judge of the 4th District Court of Appeal. Conner has served on the West Palm Beach-based court since 2011.

BRIAN LAMBERT has become chief judge of the 5th District Court of Appeal. Lambert has served on the Daytona Beach-based court since 2014.

BELINDA KIRKEGARD has been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. Kirkegard, of Kissimmee, is economic development director for the city of Kissimmee.
