ADAM BASFORD has been named vice president of government relations for Associated Industries of Florida. Basford has worked as director of legislative affairs for the Florida Farm Bureau Federation.

CARLOS CARRILLO has joined Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist’s campaign as senior adviser on labor. Carrillo served as labor and veterans vote director for President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.

ROBERT MANNING AND MICHAEL PETROVICH have joined the Gunster law firm’s Tallahassee office. Manning has practiced environmental law for nearly three decades. Petrovich is a longtime environmental attorney who has focused on issues such as solid and hazardous waste regulation.

BROOKE LEWIS has joined the Berger Singerman law firm in its Tallahassee office. Lewis will be a partner on the firm’s government and regulatory team.

KEN MCDUFFIE AND DEREK PRIDGEN have been named to new posts at U.S. Sugar. McDuffie, who was named executive vice president, most recently worked as U.S. Sugar’s senior vice president of agricultural operations. Pridgen, who was named vice president of agricultural operations, has worked as U.S. Sugar’s general manager of farm operations.

CASMIRA HARRISON has been named editor of the Palatka Daily News. Harrison previously was a reporter for The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

KARI LERNER has been elected chairwoman of the Lee County Democratic Party. Lerner is a former member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

LEEANN KRIEG AND RACHEL ZIMMER have been named to new positions in Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry’s administration. Krieg, who has been named chief of staff, most recently worked as director of intergovernmental affairs. Zimmer, who has been named director of intergovernmental affairs, most recently worked as deputy director of intergovernmental affairs.

HERMAN WHITE AND VERONICA WOLD have been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Barbers’ Board. White, of Pensacola, is owner of Esquire Barber Shop. Wold, of Crawfordville, is a government operations consultant at the Florida Department of Corrections and a travel agent with Effortless Travel of Tallahassee.

MARISOL MARIN, ROBIN TABANO, JENNIFER MACKU AND STEPHANIA STREIT have been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Board of Cosmetology. Marin, of Miami, is a cosmetology instructor at Robert Morgan Technical College and a contracts compliance specialist with the Miami-Dade County public schools. Tabano, of Tallahassee, is owner of The Robin’s Nest Hair Salon. Macku, of Pompano Beach, is owner and operator of The Place Hair Salon. Streit, of Century, is president of StreitSmart Capital.
